Ember For Mac [UPDATED]

To prepare students entering into Level 1 Faculty of Engineering programs for social success by introducing and connecting the students to each other, upper-year students, staff, faculty member, and clubs in engineering. Get to know the #FireballFamily!

Ember for Mac

Tutorials in math, physics and chemistry will be offered during six different time slots each day. During the 30 minute breaks, there will be presentations from faculty members, current students and our clubs and teams.

If you have signed up for a time you can no longer attend, make sure to email us at ember@mcmaster.ca and we can assign you to another time slot that suits your schedule. Moreover, if you need to attend a different time for a specific day because of scheduling issues, we are happy to accommodate, just send us an email!

The Club expanded in 2021 with Club MacStories+ and Club Premier. Club MacStories+ members enjoy even more exclusive stories, a vibrant Discord community, a rotating roster of app discounts, and more. And, with Club Premier, you get everything we offer at every Club level plus an extended, ad-free version of our podcast AppStories that is delivered early each week in high-bitrate audio.

Extended star mode device: Will relay messages and can act as a parent to end device nodes. Joins to a coordinator. A node can be started as a range extender using the emberJoinNetwork() or emberJoinNetworkExtended() API.

Extended star mode device: An end device whose radio is turned off when not communicating to save power. The application must call emberPollForData() to receive messages. A node can be started as a sleepy end device using the emberJoinNetwork() or emberJoinNetworkExtended() API.

Direct mode device: A device able to send and receive messages from other devices in range on the same PAN ID, with no star topology restrictions. Such device does not relay messages. A node can be started as a direct device by using the emberJoinCommissioned() API.

MAC mode device: A device able to send and receive MAC-level messages. A node can be started as a MAC mode device by using the emberJoinCommissioned(), the emberJoinNetworkExtended() or the emberMacFormNetwork() API.

Minification is enabled by default in your production environment but can be disabled in your ember-cli-build.js file if needed. This file is located in the root of your project. It is used with broccoli to import files and change default settings.

This will add a moment global variable into your project that you can be used anywhere. Remember to use the /* global MY_GLOBAL */ comment at the top of your JS files to keep JSHint happy. We'll discuss JSHint in a future tutorial.

When running ember init be careful not to overwrite anything important. If you're upgrading from a significantly older version of Ember be prepared to deal with many deprecation warnings. This is easy enough to fix, although it might take a while.

In this post we went over how to install Ember CLI, creating a new project and using generators. Then we took a look at asset compilation and dependencies. Finally we ended with directions on upgrading an older ember project.
