[S3E39] Episode

  • Tropes Bears Are Bad News: Both teams get chased by Ursaring.

  • Color Failure: Team Rocket reflecting on the bad food they suffer through.

  • Description Cut: Jessie sees how worried Ash and Brock are about Misty.Jessie: I wonder if James and Meowth are as worried about me. [cut to] James: There only one person Meowth and I would never need to worry about, and that's Jessie.

  • Deus ex Machina: In the beginning of the episode, Team Rocket manages to steal every single one of the twerps' Pokémon. They would've probably escaped if it weren't for the Ursaring.

  • Did I Just Say That Out Loud?: Meowth realizes the ledge he was stuck on with Misty was only a few feet from the bottom.Meowth: If we'd have known that, we could have taken your Pokémon last night. Misty: You were gonna take my Pokémon, huh?! Meowth: Uh-uh, I meant we was gonna take your Pokémon for a nice walk in the moonlight!

  • Enemy Mine: Both groups get split up, and end up looking for each other. Ash and Brock end up with Jessie, while Misty ends up with James and Meowth.

  • Eyelid Pull Taunt: Team Rocket does this to Ash and his friends after netting all their Pokémon. Naturally, they are immediately Hyper Beamed by the Ursaring.

  • Goo-Goo-Godlike: Togepi and Metronome.

  • Heel Realization: Jessie has a minor one when she sees how well-trained Ash and Brock's Pokémon are battling one Ursaring.

  • Here We Go Again!: Said word for word by Team Rocket at the end of the episode when they are surrounded once more by a pack of Ursaring.

  • Mating Season Mayhem: As quoted above, Ash and co. learn (after finally getting out of the forest) that a big reason the Ursaring they encountered were acting so aggressive (like, more so than usual) is because it's their breeding season.

  • Shout-Out: The dub title is one to Forrest Gump.

  • Supreme Chef: Team Rocket is awed by the food Brock prepares for Ash and Misty.

  • This Is My Side: Trapped on a ledge with James and Meowth, Misty draws a line separating her from them.

In celebration of the immersive, interactive, augmented reality experience that is planned for this Summer we thought we would make this episode interactive too. Please prepare yourselves for TDG's bingo. Drinkers will need shots, flaming Sambucas are recommended - teetotallers can play with cream horns, pop tarts or Tayto crisps. You can indulge in your chosen treat every time you hear the words ICONIC - VISIT DERRY or WATERLOO PLACE.

It gave them exclusive behind the scenes insights into the making of the programme itself. The casting, the costumes, the make up and locations. All very exciting and all top secret. Now to celebrate their 50th episode the time has come to share that day and ponder just how right or wrong their storyline theories were.

All set up to talk to Tara Lynn O'Neil, aka Ma Mary, about her penchant for hot plumbers and forbidden love (Season 3 episode 2 The Affair) the TDG's fell victim to witchcraft. They were the subject of a technical hex. (Season 2 episode 4 The Curse. - remember what happened to Aunt Bridie when she crossed Ma Mary?!)

A bit like life itself, there are more questions than answers in this week's episode. How hilarious are your scones? Pauline has a recipe and you may need a big bowl. Has anyone ever actually done Rock the Boat at an Irish wedding? (Before the Derry Girls made it a thing?) Would you know a hallion from a scallion?

Winner of the Radio Times Award for TV Moment of the Year - the final episode of series 1 brings a fairground ride of emotions. Pauline, Jeanie and Marie Louise examine those things that just aren't talked about and discuss the secrets that we all keep in our search for acceptance. What was it like to be gay in 90's Derry? From dirty laundry to job interview tips and workplace training the girls build up to their own very personal reactions to that final award winning scene. 041b061a72
