Note: Autodesk no longer supports offline activation for 2021 products and later. If you have a perpetual license, you can activate your software by going online only once. After you activate online, you can continue to use 2021 software and later offline. This change doesn't apply to subscription network licenses or previous versions that you already activated offline. Request codes are necessary only if you have perpetual license software and need an activation code to manually activate software on a computer with no Internet access. Generating a request code is the first step in the process of manually activating your Autodesk software.

Note: Request codes and manual activation are required only for perpetual license software. You need a valid serial number and product key to generate a request code for your perpetual license software. You don't need a request code for subscription software or to access your software online using a serial number and product key.

You see the screens for generating a request code in the product activation wizard only if your computer isn't connected to the Internet. If your computer has an active Internet connection, the software will assume you want to activate online, and it won't display the screens for a request code.

One other thing I wish I had known when this all started is this: When I first start LD Companion 2009 the radio button to open LDC 2009 is grayed and not accessiable, you can only prceed with generating a request code but if you close the program and repoen it you can the proceed to get some work done while you are waiting for a new activation code. According to the notes in the pop ups you have 7 days to use the product, each time I get a license error the 7 days starts over. I think it is described as a [1.11.6010] error. If I had know that in the begining I would have not taken as big of a hit on productivity.

I have been having the same issue with Civil 3D Land Desktop Companion 2009. The new liscence manager does not like the old versions of the software. Whenever a new security update for windows is installed by our IT folks or a Windows automatic update takes place the License Manager will do its thing on startup and boom it thinks it needs a new verification number for this product. This is getting to be a real pain in the **** to put it as gently as I can. We have 2 machines that run this software and in the last several months we have had to call in and verbally convey the activation codes over the phone 6-8 times. WHY when you no longer support a certain version of software is so difficult for Autodesk to provide a patch or KEYGEN so loyal paying customers dont have to go thru hell to keep old versions of software operational. I typically get asked why we still use the 2009 version, very simple, the 2009 version of Civil 3d LDD works for our applications. The latest version is at best mediocre.

The Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) was installed on the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) nearly ten years ago. Over the last decade, continuous exposure to the harsh radiation environment has degraded the charge transfer efficiency (CTE) of the CCDs. The worsening CTE impacts the science that can be obtained by altering the photometric, astrometric and morphological characteristics of sources, particularly those farthest from the readout amplifiers. To ameliorate these effects, Anderson & Bedin (2010, PASP, 122, 1035) developed a pixel-based empirical approach to correcting ACS data by characterizing the CTE profiles of trails behind warm pixels in dark exposures. The success of this technique means that it is now possible to correct full-frame ACS/WFC images for CTE degradation in the standard data calibration and reduction pipeline CALACS.
